Muhammed Ali Bhatti

Mohammad Ali is an Artist and Art Professor, currently living in Pakistan. He graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with MFA in Painting and PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts from Ohio University Athens USA. In the beginning His subject matter had its roots in figurative compositions, portraits and cultural subjects, and experimented joyously in style and medium. More recently He has been immersed in the mystery and emotions of non-objective painting. He like it because it is exciting, challenging and more close to his heart. He believes that the real enjoyment of art is the process of painting and the intuitive exploration of the visual language. He enjoys spontaneity with energetic bold brush strokes and honest expressions. He likes vibrant colors and shapes and how they respond to each other and his reaction to various elements which move freely in anonymous space.

In the beginning my subject matter had its roots in figurative compositions, portraits and cultural subjects, and I experimented joyously in style and medium. More recently I’ve been immersed in the mystery and emotions of non-objective painting. I like it because it is exciting, challenging and more close to my heart. I believe that the real enjoyment of art is the process of painting and the intuitive exploration of the visual language. I enjoy spontaneity with energetic bold brush strokes and honest expressions. I like vibrant colors and shapes and how they respond to each other and my reaction to various elements which move freely in anonymous space.  Form and the Content in my compositions are seriously contemplated, elements move freely in anonymous space molded with energetic colors, texture and illusions of appearance and disappearance of elements within the picture plan. Surface of the canvas is carefully designed and a conscious visual interest is maintained through the interplay of various elements, tones and textures Spirituality is generated through the visual interplay of various elements, subtly moving through one part to another, creating part to part and part to whole relationship in the composition.

For me, painting is a social and moral duty to explore and widen the understanding of cultural and spiritual identity; expressed through artistic maturity and rational explanation. My recent paintings titled “Absurd Illusion” are intended to comment upon the current political ambiguity and the confused society, which basically is an artistic response to what I see at this point of time in my country. Traditional politicians are maneuvering Chess game plan, attempting to create illusions to fool the innocent people again. Their manifesto and objectives are similarly absurd and confused, no body knows about any thing. My paintings I have responded what I see and feel about the contradiction between the traditional Feudalism and the absurd perception of Democracy in Pakistan.
